The Epupa Falls
The Northwest of Namibia is one of the most awe inspiring regions Africa has to offer. Here the wild mountains, with their fascinating geological history, are blending into the oldest desert of the world and the harsh beauty of the famous Skeleton Coast. What a contrast to the lush riverine forests along the banks of the Kunene River! Damara and Kaokoland is home to one of the last healthy populations of the Black Rhino. Large herds of Antelopes, Zebra and Giraffe are hunted by Lions, Hyenas, Leopards and Cheetah. The king of this land is the famous Desert Elephant, which we can encounter on our trip. Our safari will bring us in contact with the famous "Red Nomads" of the Kaokoveld, the Himba people, one of the last free roaming tribes in Africa. We are going to track Rhino and Elephant in the dry riverbeds of Damaraland. Our excursions into the rocky world of the Brandberg, the highest peak of Namibia, will open stunning views into the surrounding Namib Desert.

Sunset at the Kwandu

This journey takes us through an incredible variety of mountain, savannah and river ecosystems with the opportunity to encounter an abundance of bird and wildlife. We will see vast salt pans, the petrified remnants of an ancient desert as well as the biggest iron-nickel meteorite in the world, until we finally reach the water wilderness of the Caprivi. Experience the comfort of the lodges as well as the romance of our tented camps, immersing yourself in the ambience of the African bush. On our photographic hunting trips I will bring you in close range of Elephants, Buffalos, Hippopotamus, Nile Crocodiles and many other species. Hear the Lion roaring during the beautiful sunsets at the Okavango, Mashi and Kwandu River. Experience the rivers on a Mokoro (dug-out) canoe trip and meet the traditional tribes living in picturesque villages. The magic of Africa is best found while walking silently through bush and savannah. We will hike along the banks of the rivers as well as on the impressive Waterberg Plateau, where both Black and White Rhino can be encountered and where we will have stunning views into the vast Kalahari.

The Namib-Dunes

Deep in the South of Namibia we have the opportunity to explore two of the most impressive deserts Africa has to offer – the Namib and the Kalahari.
In the Namib you can find breath-taking mountain and dune landscapes crowned by two of the World’s geological wonders; the World’s highest sand dunes at Sossusvlei and its second biggest canyon at the gorge of the Fish River. In contrast, the Kalahari is characterized by its red dunes, old acacia savannah, meandering ancient river courses and stunning sunsets, with the stars at night appearing close enough to touch. An impressive contrast is the wild southwest coast with the legendary diamond areas, where Penguins and Seals live next to the creatures of the desert. Both of these deserts are home to an abundance of bird and wildlife, among them the hardiest antelope on earth, the Oryx. Herds of Springboks, Ostrich and Wildebeest live here, hunted by Cheetah, Leopard and Hyena. We explore these deserts by vehicle and on foot; hiking in the Naukluft-Mountains in the tracks of Zebra and Leopard, passing crystal clear water pools and moving on foot through the dunes around Sossusvlei. A night under the stars in the dunes is a mystical and deeply spiritual experience.

Lion in the Chobe
This safari takes us into four fascinating African countries – and introduces us to several legendary African names and places: The Okavango, The Kwandu, The Zambezi, Victoria Falls, Livingston, Chobe, Linyanti etc. We will travel into one of the few remaining pristine trans-frontier wilderness areas in Africa, where you can still discover and experience the Africa of your dreams. Passing through stunning riverine and savannah landscapes we will head for the world-famous Victoria Falls, approaching it via a new and exciting route through Zambia. On our adventurous photographic hunts you will be taken within close, but safe, range of Buffalo, Lion, Hippo and Elephant. We will meet the local fishermen and farmers in their picturesque villages, who are still living a traditional way of life. We will go on game drives and walks in all of the National Parks along the route, among the highlights will be the Chobe National Park in Botswana (which is home to one of the highest Elephant populations in Africa) and the Mahango Park in Namibia, with an enormous density of different species along the Okavango flood plains. Throughout this wildlife extravaganza, it will be my pleasure to explain to you the flora, fauna, geology and the ecosystems we’ll encounter on this fascinating safari through “Real Africa”.
